Brush Prairie, WA is a quiet rural area just south of Battle Ground, WA and north of Vancouver, WA. There are beautiful scenic views of the country, but just a short drive to all of the amenities of Vancouver and Portland.
Brush Prairie was named by Elmarine Bowman, daughter of Merrit and
Maddora Bowman, for a brushy prairie and swamp near her father's
homestead. The Bowmans were one of the first white families to settle
in the area.
Based on 1900-2008 data, Brush Prairie sits in a microclimate known
as the Clark County Snow Belt. In this region, prairie effect snowfall
can and often does occur, giving Brush Prairie an enhanced snowfall
average compared to many other communities in the Portland metropolitan area
.
